Meghan visits...

My FAVORITE thing in the world is when Meghan comes to visit. She was able to stay for 9 days this time! We hardly got any pictures of the week unfortunately! We decorated for St. patricks day and made some sugar cookies for Mark for his birthday since his actual birthday is on st. Patricks day.

We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory with my whole family...
And everyone came to my house to celebrate my nieces birthday so I made a cake for her!
Hopefully the next time Meghan comes to visit is when she's moving here :)

Phoenix 1/2 Marathon

We just got back from Arizona after running in the Phoenix half marathon. When Rob and I signed up for it my feet hurt but I decided to run it anyway. Then I became pregnant and that was another obstacle. The most I had run was 11 miles to train for it. At the end of the 11 miles my knees starting hurting (something i've never dealt with before). So for the run I decided to wear knees bands on my knees to help me get through it. So having Plantar Fasciitis in both feet, bad knees, tired from pregnancy and feeling nauseated I decided to run it anyway. (worst decision ever!) After the first 5 miles I turned to Meghan and told her I didn't know if I could run anymore because my knees started hurting. We saw our kids at mile 9 and that motivated me to go a little further but at mile 10 1/2 I used her phone to call her husband to come pick me up because my knees hurt so bad! only 2 1/2 miles to go and I had to stop...how annoying is that!!! We were running 8 minute miles too!
I was so proud of Rob, he ran it in exactly 2 hours, which was his goal!! After the run we signed our kids up for a fun run with all of their cousins. It was so cute. Afterwards they were giving away free popcorn, cotton candy and they could play on the blow up toys behind them in the picture.
We went swimming after the run where I spent most of my time in the hot tub and taking a nap. It was so relaxing and the kids had such a great time with all of their cousins. The adults were able to go out that night at a place called Grimaldi's. (Best pizza place EVER!)
It ended up being a really fun weekend, but the best decision probably would have been to not run the half marathon at all! :)
